Oracle’s substantial raise in the open offer price and the targeted stake in i-flex, also sparked a rally in select other IT shares.
Among the major gainers were Polaris Software (up 9% to Rs 148), Geometric Software (up 6% to Rs 120), Nucleus Software (up 6.8% to Rs 540), Subex Azure (up 5.8% to Rs 670), Sonata Software up (up 5% to Rs 51.80), Rolta (up 3.4% to Rs 261), Mphasis BFL (up 3.8% to Rs 260), KLG Systel (up 2.8% to Rs 283) and Kale Consultants (up 2% to Rs 99.50)
Among them, Polaris, Mphasis and Sonata rose on high volumes. As many as 18 lakh shares changed hands in Polaris, 13 lakh shares changed hands in Sonata and 15 lakh shares got traded in Mphasis.
Oracle Corporation today substantially raised the open offer price for i-flex from Rs 1,475 per share to Rs 2,100 per share. Oracle intends to raise its stake in i-flex to 90%, from the earlier intent of raising its holding to 75%, from existing 55%. In September 2006, Oracle had announced an open offer for 20% stake at Rs 1,475 per share. The revised offer values i-flex at 49 times the forecast earnings. I-flex shares were up nearly 17% in late-trading, at Rs 2,048.
Pratibha Industries bags Rs 245 mn order from MMRDA
Pratibha Industries has secured a contract worth Rs 245 million from Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) for widening and construction of Andheri-Kurla Link Road (Saki Naka to LBS Road and Jari Mari Road).The project will be completed in 15 months.
Recently the company has bagged an order from Airport Authority of India (AAI) for the modular expansion of its terminal building at Amritsar Airport, Amritsar (Phase II), in joint venture with Unity Infraprojects. The value of the contract is Rs 656 million.
The project involves `civil construction for the new expansion area along with related electric and electronic installations`. The project will be completed in 10 months.
Pratibha Industries is engaged in infrastructure business with key focus on water segment. The company has laid increased emphasis on devising its business strategy on aggressive top line growth, a de-risked business model and increased operational efficiencies.
GAIL acquires stake in A7 Myanmar block
GAIL as consortium partner along with Silver Wave Energy has inked the production sharing contract with Myanmar Oil and Gas Enterprise Dec. 06, 2006 for block A-7 located in Rakhine offshore area, Myanmar. It has also acquired a stake in A7 Myanmar block.
The company shall hold 30% participating interest whereas rest 70% shall be with Silver Wave Energy.Currently, the firm holds a participating interest in 17 exploration blocks, along with national and international consortium partners, Of these, 7 are on-land blocks and 10 are offshore blocks. In India, there are 13 blocks which are in basins such as Mahanadi, Bengal, Gujarat-Saurashtra, Mumbai, Cambay, Assam-Akaran and Cauvery.
The company also bought stakes in the A-1 and A-3 blocks in Myanmar and block no 56 in Oman.Besides, the company consortium has won three blocks in the latest round of bidding for CBM blocks in the country.
