L&T hardens on US acquisition
L&T rose 1.97% to Rs 1,421.50, after subsidiary, L&T Infotech, acquired an electronics design services firm in the US.

California-based GDA is one of the fastest growing companies in the Silicon Valley. Its portfolio of embedded hardware and software development capabilities, along with the IP licensing, provide GDA customers with complete solutions.

As many as 2.04 lakh shares changed hands in the counter on BSE.The stock slipped steadily from Rs 1,470 on 7 December, to Rs 1,394.05 on 12 December under sustained pressure due to an overall sharp correction.

On 11 December, GMR Infrastructure-promoted Delhi International Airport (DIAL) awarded Larsen & Toubro (L&T) a contract worth Rs 5,400-crore for design and construction of terminal, runway and associated works at the Delhi airport. The order involves design and construction of a passenger terminal, and a 4.43-km runway, which will be one of Asia's longest. L&T will execute the work in time for the Commonwealth Games.

Moser Baer India best stock in 'A' group
Moser Baer India jumped 11.41% to Rs 256.75, the most in BSE ‘A’ group stocks.

Moser Baer India bounced back as buying resumed after a sharp plunge in the past few days. The stock had plunged around 16.50% in the past six trading sessions.

Last week, there were reports that the International Finance Corporation (IFC) is planning to invest Rs 1 billion in the company’s project, which manufactures recordable optical storage media products such as compact discs and DVDs. The International Finance Corporation is the private equity arm of the World Bank. The funding is for the Rs 4.14 billion Moser Baer Photo Voltaic (a subsidiary of Moser Baer) project to set up an export-oriented solar photovoltaic (PV) cells and module for generating electricity from sunlight manufacturing facility with an installed capacity of 80 Mw. The initial outlay will be around $58 million and IFC is considering an investment of $22.5 million to support the project.
