Update 3

Sensex over 100 points ahead, above 13,500
The market recovered in afternoon trade. The market-breadth remained strong. HDFC lost further ground and Infosys remained subdued. Index heavyweight Reliance Industries (RIL) held positive zone.

At 13:31 IST the Sensex was up 107 points, at 13,538. It had surged 116.07 points, to 13,546.78 at 11:53 IST. The benchmark index had pared gains later, to 13,510 by 13:11.The market-breadth was strong. Against 1,780 shares rising on BSE, 606 declined. As many as 86 shares were unchanged. Gainers outpaced losers by a ratio of nearly 2.93:1.The BSE clocked a turnover of Rs 2516 crore.

Aditya Birla Nuvo braces up for rights issue
Aditya Birla Nuvo advanced 4.50% to Rs 1,115, after it slated a board meeting for 23 November 2006, to set a date for the rights issue.

They will also consider price, premium, number of shares and ratio of the proposed rights issue, which will mop up Rs 780 crore, to repay existing debt and for general corporate purposes.As many as 26,260 shares were traded in the counter on BSE.

The stock witnessed a solid spurt in the past few months from Rs 809.25 on 11 September 2006, to surge to Rs 1,072.75 by 17 November 2006, on sustained buying. Here, it witnessed profit- booking and slipped to Rs 1,067.10 by 20 November 2006.

Bhagyanagar India issues 5 lakh shares on preferential basis
Bhagyanagar India has approved the issue of 5 lakh fully paid up equity shares of face value of Rs 2 each at a price of Rs 40 (including a premium of Rs 38) on preferential basis to Bennett Coleman & Company, subject to approval of shareholders, at the ensuing extraordinary general meeting scheduled to be held on December 20, 2006.

The board of directors of the company at its meeting held on November 20, 2006 approved the issue of the above mentioned shares.
